GOATS
Reared with love and care for Meat, Kids, & Diary
what we offer
Our goats are grass fed and free to roam around outside, with shelters for protection from the wind and rain. Due top the temperate whether in Uganda, Our goats are left to roam out and return for salts, we manufacture our feed using the crops on the Farm and that which we cannot manufacture from a local manufacturer only few miles away.
The meat we produce is from the good breeds in Uganda and abroad. We aim to introduce breeds for meat imported from the South African Boer, distinctively known by their white body, brown head and floppy ears. Crossed with the Saanen, Toggenburg and Anglo Nubian milk breeds.
PROS & CONS CONS: Some people dislike the taste of goat’s milk, and we agree that certain breeds of goats can have musky tasting milk. We rear good breeds known in Uganda and imported, which produce a mild taste that’s almost identical to cow’s milk. The only drawback is that they are small animals. Small animals = less milk. Because we get about 1-2 quarts a day from one goat, we need about 2-3 goats to feed our family of four. Not too bad, but you’d definitely need a lot of animals to “feed the masses.”
